An hot tip for modern history lovers!
On your way through the modern Czech history of the 60’s, you will pass by important places connected with events of the liberalization era of the 60’s knwon as Prague Spring, and the invasion of the V4 armies in August 1968. The tour will take you to places such as:
- the “Czech Broadcasting Company ” – the functionalist building of the former Czecho-Slovak Broadcasting Company saw the largest stage of conflict between the Czecho-Slovak citizens on barricades and Sovietic tanks on 21 August 1968 when V4 armies invaded the CSSR on the pretext of „fraternity aid“ from the fear of liberalization movement of Prague Sring.
- the Wenceslas Square –the scene of important landmarks of the Czecho-Slovak history, where, apart from impressive Art Nouveau and functionalist architecture, you can find a memorial of the student victim of Jan Palach, who was fighting for liberalization ideas of Prague Spring.
- Metronom – the vantage point over Prague where the largest sculptural group in Europe of the day was built during the darkest times of the Czechoslovak communist era, picturing the then sovietic leader Stalin. The colossus was blasted away in 1962. At its place, the nowadays Metronom stands.
- Tram T3 ride – Tatra T3 is the iconic model of trams that have been cruising the streets of Prague since half a century already. The wagons of particular creamy-red paint were put into operation in November 1962. You can still have a ride in one of these today.

Pilgrim group to the Czech Republic, April 2015
Thank you so much for organising this wonderful trip for us. I love seeing all the beautiful old buildings and cathedrals and the picturesque scenery along the River Danube. inspired me.
The hotels you picked for us in Czech are centrally located and clean. The hotel room in Prague was quite big. Our tour guide in Czech was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
Private tour to Eastern Europe, May 2015
Incentive group to Prague, 01 – 03 June 2012
Again we would like to express our thanks for the PERFECT impeccable organization of this weekend.
As travel professionals it is our duty, towards our clients, to compare several offers of incoming agents. Your proposal was , by far, the most original, not only by the choice of the restaurants, but also by the alternative means of visiting the city. The guides were competent, the transfer services punctual. The hotel la Perla’s location was perfect for a stroll in the heart of the city.
Since our company is a member of the most important group of independant travel agencies in Belgium, Selectair, we will brief our colleagues of your excellent services and we hope in the future to work with you again.
