CZECH REPUBLIC REGIONS, SIGHTS AND ATTRACTIONS

Even though not very large in size, the Czech Republic boasts an incredible diversity of landscape types, cultural and natural regions and tourist sites. Our aim is to show our visitors not only Prague, but also other parts of the country that are sometimes unjustly neglected.

THE CZECH REPUBLIC CONSISTS OF THE HISTORICAL TERRITORIES OF BOHEMIA, MORAVIA AND SILESIA.

Some of the most distinct regions are:

PRAGUE SURROUNDINGS - CENTRAL BOHEMIA
This region, which is rich in history and cultural sites (Karlštejn and Křivoklát castles, Konopiště, Dobříš, Český Šternberk chateaux) and natural heritage sites is often visited by day visitors from Prague. Very popular is canoeing, kayaking or windsurfing on the rivers Vltava and Sázava.

SOUTHERN BOHEMIA
An area full of castles, chateaux and lakes is Southern Bohemia – one of the least urbanized, but also the most picturesque regions. Walking tours, fishing, or water sports are an option. There are also numerous cultural and historical sights – the historical town of Český Krumlov and a set of old folk buildings in Holašovice have been included in the list of UNESCO cultural heritage.

ŠUMAVA NATIONAL PARK
Mountains and hills, deep forests, valleys, meadows, streams and glacial lakes, remains of primeval forest growth. This all is included if you choose to visit the Šumava mountains in the southwest of the country. Ideal for summer and winter activities, there are well-marked hiking trails and mountain resorts for winter sports.

WEST-BOHEMIA SPAS
One of the most visited regions of the country is rich in natural spa heritage. Located along the border with Germany, many tourists come to Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně, or Františkovy Lázně to relax and recover in a variety of natural thermal springs.

NORTHERN BOHEMIA AND ČESKÝ RÁJ (BOHEMIA PARADISE)
A chain of mountain ranges stretched along the national borders including the highest mountain of the country (Sněžka 1602 m) offer endless delight for nature lovers and skiers. Further towards Prague lies Český ráj – a remarkable region of sandstone towers, rock formations and castles – perfect for hikers and climbers.

SOUTHERN MORAVIA
A paradise for wine lovers, this region is also perfect for cyclists and folklore buffs. The second largest city of the country – Brno is the regional capital. North of it the Moravian Karst is located - an area with its maze of abysses and caves. You should also not miss a chance to meet the local people who are probably the most leisurely and free-spirited group among the Czechs.
